The people we build for can’t read the code.
So here’s what we’ve committed to.
Every academy on Kova is trusting us with children. These are the lines we’ve drawn, in plain language.
How we develop players
Words, not scores
Feedback a player can act on — what they did well, what to work on next. No number that defines a nine-year-old.
No leaderboards. No rankings. Ever.
Kova will never rank children against each other. Development isn't a competition between teammates.
Progress never goes backwards
A player who misses a month doesn't lose ground they earned. Their record reflects what they've done, not how recently they did it.
Who sees what
Every role sees only what it needs
Directors, coaches, players, and parents each get their own view. No one sees outside it.
Parents see their own child. Only their own child.
Assessments, notes, schedule, film — all of it, for their child. Never another family's.
Teens 16 and over keep their messages private
Including from their parents, by default. Parents still see schedule, attendance, development, and film. A teenager's conversations are their own.
What we never do
We never sell or share your data
Not to scouts. Not to brands. Not to advertisers. There is no version of Kova where a child's data is a product.
We never train AI on your child
Not on their film, not on their conversations, not on their development record. Our contracts with our AI provider require the same of them.
Nothing about a player is ever public
No profiles in search results, no shareable links, nothing visible outside the academy. When a family leaves, they keep their child's development summary — it's their story, not our data.
We’d rather tell you this than let you assume it.
Kova is pre-launch and built by a small team. We’re documenting our compliance benchmarks against safe-sport and child-data standards now, and we’ll publish an annual transparency report after our first full year of operations. When we have certifications, they’ll appear here. Until then, this page is what we’ve committed to — and you can hold us to it.
One question we get a lot.
Kova is built to support compliance with COPPA and comparable child-privacy laws — verifiable parental consent, minimal data collection, and no advertising to children. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.
Questions about how we protect players?
