Six dimensions, not one score
Players are described across six dimensions rather than reduced to a single rating: how they see the game, how they read it, what they believe about themselves, how they show up in it, what they are playing for, and how they recover. Questions are age-banded, so a nine-year-old and a sixteen-year-old are never asked the same thing.
Recognition that always comes with words
Coaches award monthly medals — for effort, for improvement, for the unglamorous work — and a medal cannot be given without an encouragement note explaining why. Parents always see both. Praise from a coach is never a private channel, and never a bare badge.
Streaks that cannot punish a child
Momentum is counted in active weeks, never days. A family holiday, an exam period, or an injury cannot break a child’s streak, and an inactive week never wipes what came before. The copy invites players back rather than guilting them.
Notes a coach chooses to share
Coaches keep their own observations about a player and decide which of them the player is allowed to read. Development stays honest for staff and encouraging for the child.
Kova measures a player’s own growth and never ranks children against each other. Scores never decay — a player who steps away does not watch their progress drain, because that would measure app usage instead of the person. How Kova protects players
